The service offered to families has been developed after evaluating the most common types of issues and the most effective way to tackle them within modern family life.
Initial Consultation
It is vital to meet the family in their home environment, as this is where most situations will be dealt with.
Whether the whole family including children are present initially is something to discuss and agree with the parents at first point of contact, where we will find a mutually agreeable time for a visit.
At the initial consultation we will discuss the issues involved and work towards identifying the cause.
It is beneficial to talk through problems and concerns with a third party, as often some perspective on an issue can help parents understand why it is happening and reassure them that it can be managed.
At this point a Hands on sessions can be arranged and a contract signed.
Hands on sessions
At the Hands on sessions there will be an initial briefing, so that everyone knows the aims of the session. It is then a case of helping and reassuring parents that they have the confidence and knowledge to deal with the issue.
Just a Spoonful firmly believes children are happiest and most confident when they are assured of the boundaries of behaviour accepted in the home, and want to share this knowledge with others so they can enjoy their children and promote a healthy bond between parents and child.
At the end if each session there will be an opportunity to discuss how the session went and confirm any agreed actions.
Document
At the end of the Hands on sessions the family will be supplied with a bound document detailing the issues raised and tackled. The document will also contain a review of the action taken by the family, for them to use as reference at any time.
